The 17th Annual Lunch on the Lawn was held Friday, September 20, at the Cumberland County Community Complex. Lunch on the Lawn is Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity’s largest fundraiser of the year. For the cost of admission, you get a hand painted bowl that can be used to sample amazing entrees and desserts from local Vendors. This year, Habitat brought over 1,300 hand painted bowls and welcomed 51 Vendors. Attendance for the event was just over 1,000 people. Approximately 50 Volunteers, Staff, and Homebuyers were on hand to help.
During the event, participants voted for Best Booth, Best Entrée, and Best Dessert. This year the winners were Century 21 for Best Booth, Tennessee Heart for Best Entrée with a Buffalo Chicken Dip, and CCHS Culinary for Best Dessert with Beignets.
Every dollar raised during the event goes right back into our building fund to continue the mission of providing safe and affordable housing in Cumberland County. Last year, Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity completed it’s 80th home. There are currently five homes under construction.
